Every Halloween the parties and trick-or-treaters are a veritable who’s who of pop culture with a heavy blend of famous looks mixed in with the spooky ghosts and terrifying witches. The kids want to dress up as their favorite character from movies or TV, and the adults like to get creative with the couple’s costumes and movie worthy makeovers. This year’s biggest Halloween inspiration comes from these trending characters:

1. Captain America and Wonder Woman
Superheroes have always been Halloween favorites for both kids and grown ups. Two particular favorites for decades now have been Captain America and Wonder Woman. The beauty of these costumes is that there have been several iterations of these characters. This means that you can choose a simplistic retro costume or splash out and use some Halloween costume coupons on a high quality replica of the most recent movie inspired outfits. 2. Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin
This is a really fun couple’s outfit idea based on the pop culture phenom Tiger King. A quick trip to a Halloween store for a fake handlebar mustache, a blonde mullet wig and maybe a straight long light brown wig for Carole will get you started. Then you can hit the thrift store for some crazy over the top shirts, cheap cowboy style boots and maybe a kid’s cap gun and holster. 3. Baby Yoda
This is a great costume for the really young kids from little babies to toddlers. It’s adorable. Baby Yoda merchandise is everywhere right now and this includes chin wrap hoods with little Yoda face and ears. These come along with a cute little Yoda robe to complete the look. I’m sure some very creative types may be able to make homemade versions.

4. Jon Snow and Daenerys Targaryen
Game of Thrones may have ended months ago but the characters of Jon and Dany are still very popular and relevant. These characters are a great couple’s idea. This costume may not be an easy one to make at home so buying or renting may be the best way to go. A heavy fur lined cloak for Jon along with a big fake sword and a more dainty cloak and regal looking white dress for Dany will be part of a good outfit. You could even throw in a fake small dragon or three to complete the look.

5. Baby Shark
A few years ago the Baby Shark song came out and kids were driving parents crazy playing it over and over again. Well it’s prominence may have waned somewhat but little kids still love it and many may want to dress up as the little shark in the family. There are a wide array of outfits available for kids ranging from infants to 4-5 years of age.

6. Harley Quinn and Joker
The ultimate crazy couple makes for a great couple’s costume. Harley Quinn and Joker outfits are popular and easy to find. Add a little creative face painting and you have a great fun grown up party outfit. This one also works for the kids as well.
